The heritage of Fort Terrett is most evident in the multiple structures from the Fort's early days that have been adapted to serve as comfortable living accommodations and serve current ranching operations. A tree-lined entry lane that borders the original parade grounds leads to the main house on the ranch and headquarters. The four bedroom, four and one-half bath main house includes the remains of the two restored officer's quarters which have been extensively modernized. A large central room has been erected to connect the two separate wings into a spacious living room with vaulted ceilings and Mexican tile floor. An entertaining area has been added and incorporates the original stone fireplace from the old cook's shack. The old fort's water well has been dramatically lighted and capped with a clear plastic cover to create a unique end table. Outside the main house is a swimming pool with adjoining gazebo for barbecues and large group entertaining. The Ranch has five other individual houses each with it's own kitchen and bath providing a total of 11 bedrooms. Of which, are the old fort hospital and Colonel Bainbridge's old quarters. The Hill Country location with fishing, hunting and rustic charm is ideal as a family retreat or for entertaining friends and business associates.
